Rigs and beams

These are usually welded and afterwards anodized and varnished. This method ensures that the rigs and beams are extremely stiff, corrosion-free and therefore durable. We have developed various details specially for the use on multihulls.

Dolphin striker

Dolphin strikers are, in connection with furling gear, mostly designed in an „A“-shape. The FORMAT strikers  are designed as a „V“ and weigh 30 – 40 % less with the same dimensions.

Trampolines

The trampolines can be made from different materials depending on the type of boat and the area in which it is to sail.

A PVC-coated lattice-like material is the most suitable for comfortable cruising catamarans. It looks elegant and is resistant to age. The smooth surface is ideal for walking on barefoot as well as sun-bathing. Dyneema net material without knots is the best choice for sporty cats because it is very light, extremely abrasion-resistant and has a high tensile strength. It provides the largest possible free area. Knotted nets from nylon or polypropylene are an alternative that is good value for money, although sun-bathing without a towel underneath or walking barefoot on these materials would not be recommendable. The trampolines are always tightened to their optimum by the proved and tested FORMAT fastening system.  

Deck hardware

We harmonize the fittings on deck and use only carefully selected products of well-known manufacturers. Sometimes it is necessary to combine the products of different companies and to add custom-made items to them.
